In business we still see some people treating women differently than men. Women are held back when perceptions and behaviors are based on the stereotype that men are better and more important in business. Some of these everyday behaviors are subtle. I will itemize 12 of these and tell you what you can do to change the business climate that’s holding women back.

One of the reasons women aren’t making it into upper management as readily as men is that they are not included in informal networks. There’s research to support this from Catalyst the New York-based nonprofit organization. And at WomensMedia we receive hundreds of emails a day from working women who tell us of obstacles they face. And, believe me, exclusion from informal networks is a biggie! Don’t worry, you can bypass this obstacle!
