Through trial and error, I’ve come up with a checklist of what I believe it takes to create a successful and productive networking group.

One of the reasons women aren’t making it into upper management as readily as men is that they are not included in informal networks. There’s research to support this from Catalyst the New York-based nonprofit organization. And at WomensMedia we receive hundreds of emails a day from working women who tell us of obstacles they face.
